Viewing jewelry on a jeweler's website? When our viewer is embedded in a jeweler's shop, the jeweler decides how your data is used and is the controller; we process the few technical data involved on the jeweler's behalf, under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR). Please read the jeweler's privacy notice.
What we process, why, and for how long
| When | Data | Purpose and legal basis | Kept for |
| You visit the site or open a viewer | IP address, browser type, time of the request | Delivering the pages and protecting them from abuse. Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our hosting provider processes these data to deliver the connection. We use the IP only to count requests per minute, as an irreversible hash. | We keep no request logs with IP addresses. The rate-limit counter lasts 60 seconds. |
| A 3D viewer loads | Daily counts of technical events (load started, ready, error), renderer type and loading time, with no identifier of the visitor | Keeping the viewer fast and reliable. Legitimate interest. These counts are not personal data on their own. | 90 days |
| You open a trial page we prepared for you | Number of openings and time of the last one, for that page only | Knowing that you have seen the trial before we follow up. Legitimate interest and steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). | Until the page is deleted, at most 12 months |
| You write to us or book a call | Name, email, company, phone if given, message, attached CAD files | Answering you and preparing the free trial you asked for. Steps prior to a contract and legitimate interest. | 24 months after the last contact. Product files are not personal data; we delete them whenever you ask |
| We contact your business first | Business name, professional contact details and role, taken from your website or public professional directories | A single professional proposal relevant to your business. Legitimate interest. You can object at any time and we stop immediately. | 24 months, or until you object. We keep a minimal record of the objection so we do not contact you again. |
| You become a customer | Contact and billing data, contract, orders, payments, invoices, support messages, product files | Providing the service (Art. 6(1)(b)) and meeting tax and accounting duties (Art. 6(1)(c)). | Contract duration; invoices and accounting records 10 years as required by Italian law |
We do not use your data for automated decisions or profiling, we do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
We set no cookies. The site remembers your language and currency choice in your browser's local storage; the viewer uses session storage only to avoid reloading in a loop after an error. These are strictly technical and need no consent. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from automated traffic.
Fonts and scripts are served from our own domain: your browser does not contact third-party font or analytics services.
Who receives the data
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, file storage, database, backups, email routing and the security of our sites. Processor under the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum.
- Google: the mailbox where our emails are delivered.
- Our electronic invoicing provider and the Italian Revenue Agency's exchange system (SDI), for invoices only.
- Our accountant and legal advisors, bound by professional secrecy, when needed.
Nobody else. We never share customer files with other customers.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare and Google are US companies. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which both are certified, and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). The administration panel is behind single sign-on with access limited to us. Customer files are stored in private storage, checked by checksum and backed up every night. Viewer sessions use short-lived signed tokens bound to the authorized sites.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (Articles 15–21 GDPR). Write to auralith@layerbase3d.com; we answer within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the authority where you live or work.
Giving us your data is up to you. Without a contact address we cannot reply; without billing data we cannot provide the paid service.
Changes
We will update this page if our processing changes and show the new date at the top. Customers are informed by email of significant changes.

A chi arrivano i dati
